Home Redo~Kitchen

After much, and i really mean much, fooling around with all of the little details the kitchen is completed!

For now anyway!  I'm sure as time goes by i'll be finding many more goodies to add.

Now for the tease!

There's that platter!

A reminder of what it looked like before!

 ~~Drum Roll Please~~

Okay, it may not be jaw dropping or awe inspiring but it most definitely is an improvement and the idea in the beginning is to be realistic.  Look what you can do with a little creativity, imagination and left over paint!!  All of the decorative items were either in the kitchen, came from other rooms, or were items i was hanging on to and didn't know what to do with!  I didn't have enough nik~naks to spread them out over the cabinets so i got creative and broke them down into separate vignettes! Total cost for the week out of the $20 budget~~~~~ $11.00~~Hurray!!  That makes it even better!!

The thing that produced the most impact was certainly the paint!  Nice, clean, and fresh!  I'm happy with the outcome!  A couple of things that i may do is take down that scalloped detail over the window and fog a bit of white paint over that basket hanging on the side of the island!  The curtain above the sink is a vintage dresser scarf!

The basket on the island came from a golf cart!  Here's some close ups of what's in it!

I just love white dishes with items that look like they came out of the garden shed!!

A few more close ups!

I used Command Strip Velcro picture hanging strips to hang the butter pats! (Wow, this pic is really distorted!) This is where i spent the $11.00 dollars. Those little beggars were expensive, but worth it!

Neat little trick!!

On to the next.....Coming soon dining room!

Keep Looking Up~~Stacey

  6. meant to say bicycle basket ... no room for the bicycle. LOL

  7. Great redo Stacey! Your kitchen came out great! I love the little golf basket touch.

Since I'm living on an island now I don't have access to all of the fancy little new command strip type stuff that you guys have. And, if I do come across them here they tend to be pretty cost prohibitive. Ahhh, import taxes. :)

    Thanks for stopping by today!

  8. Well Shoot!!... and i thought i lived in a rural area! I should have know that the answer to your challenge wouldn't be that simple or it wouldn't be a challenge! The thought never occured to me that you couldn't just run to Wallyworld and pick up whatever! I'm still rooting for you thought, i know you will think of something!!! Thank you for the nice compliment on the kitchen!!

  9. Thanks Jamie! I'm now a follower, can't wait to see how the fireplace turns out!!
